Statistics • Most common abused drug is Marijuana • 19.5 million people over the age of 12 use illegal drugs in the United States • Over six million children in America live with at least one parent who has a drug addiction. • Each year, drug abuse and drug addiction cost employers over 122 billion dollars in lost productivity time

  3. MYTHS • Overcoming addiction is a simply a matter of willpower. You can stop using drugs if you really want to • Addiction is a disease; there’s nothing you can do about it. • Addicts have to hit rock bottom before they can get better. • You can’t force someone into treatment; they have to want help. • Treatment didn’t work before, so there’s no point trying again; some cases are hopeless.
