  2. Aims • Verify the longitudinal compression scheme in ALICE • Confirm Peter’s ELEGANT model is correct • Re create data taken by Peter and Frank in shifts #3058 (AR1-BPM06) and #3076 (ST2-BPM04)

  3. LC1GS Varied AR1-QUAD01/04 Varied #3058 AR1-BPM06 Before Chicane Shifted Parabola ELEGANT consistently steeper Confirms isochronous condition (~2.16A QUAD01/04)

  4. LC1GS Varied AR1-QUAD01/04 Varied #3076 ST2-BPM04 Post Chicane

  5. LC1GS Varied AR1-SEXT01 Varied #3058 AR1-BPM06 Before Chicane

  6. LC1GS Varied AR1-SEXT01 Varied #3076 ST2-BPM04 Post Chicane Note: Frank used 2.23A on AR1-QUAD01/04 not 2.19

  7. Further Investigations • Vary LC2GS instead of LC1 (Frank shift #3056) • Vary AR1-SEXT02 instead of AR1-SEXT01

  8. LPS plots • Tracking LPS as beam goes through the chicane • Compare for different sextupole and quadrupole strengths at nominal energy • Comparing LPS based on different beam distributions for different setups (THZ and FEL) • All at nominal energy (~26MeV)
