  2. 2005 Membership Drive Membership Drive Strategy: Leadership buy in - Mandatory Clear, Concise, Consistent Message Good Planning Which in turn must: Enhance the good! Mitigate the not so good! And must be: Tactically sound Executed well

  3. 2005 Membership Drive Execution Plan Phase one: Prepare (14 Dec 04 - 31 Jan 05) Phase two: Execute Plan (1 Feb – 31 Mar Phase three: Post Drive Plan (31 Mar – TBD)

  4. 2005 Membership Drive Phase One: Prepare (14 Dec 04 - 31 Jan 05 ) A Command, leadership, and supervisor support A Robust volunteers, train, communication plan A Publicity plan A- Order promotional materials (3 VPs no record) A Finalize personal “Road Show” (Must work for you) A Schedule kickoff – Involve leadership B- Ensure CC received letter for nominations – Joe Kellogg Blue Suit Awards Banquet Awardees

  5. 2005 Membership Drive Phase Two: Execute (1 Feb - 31 Mar) A Continue command, leadership, supervisor support A Motivate volunteers, work issues, communicate A+ Disseminate promotional materials A+ Deliver “Road Show” anyplace, anytime! B Gather and forward nominations for Joe Kellogg Blue Suit Awards Banquet Awardees (Culmination!) B Have leadership announce winners early – publicize! B Execute publicity plan-Didn’t publish winners in press

  6. 2005 Membership Drive Phase Two: Unintended Consequences All Good…but Internal Competition for Resources Kellogg Nominations, Ticket Sales, Issues Mr. Largent Visit (DV-7) AFA-Texas Spring EXCOM AFA Membership Drive “Old News” However…Team surged…holes filled (AFRS, 59 MDW)

  7. 2005 Membership Drive Phase Two: Outstanding Consequences Tangible as well as intangible… High Numbers – 37 (highest in TX) briefed on 1 Apr Bolstered senior ranking officer awareness of AFA AFA well aware of efforts – promotional materials Leadership chain “on board” Educated ourselves – Educated the Public A + with AFA Leaders at Texas Spring EXCOM A + with AFA National Leaders

  8. 2005 Membership Drive Phase Three: Post Drive (31 Mar – TBD) Thank command, leadership, and supervisors Thank volunteers – Post drive party! Restock promotional materials – Keep “on the shelf” Execute post-membership drive publicity plan
