  7. A – Acknowledge the problem. Some of us and our friends are experiencing different things in their lives. Grief, divorce, personal problems, etc.

  8. C – Care – Show your friend you care. Be supportive and understanding. Listen, don’t solve.

  9. T – Tell a trusted adult. We don’t expect students to know how to figure it out. We are here to help.

  14. Important information: You must earn an “A” or “B” in English to be considered for a Foreign Language at Palisades HS or at other high schools as well. Do your best in the fall and spring. There will be a high school placement test at the end of the yearfor Palisades HS.

  15. Culmination Requirementsfor 8th Grade • Pass 10 out of 12 classes (no more than 2 FAILS) • In the Spring semester, no more than 2 U’s in Work Habits and no more than 2 U’s in Cooperation

  16. Culmination requirements,continued . . . Have no outstanding library or textbook fines or any unserved detentions. Have no more than 10 full days absences over the course of the school year. Have no more than 10 UNEXCUSED tardies over the course of the school year.

  17. CULMINATION QUIZ If I earned 3 U’s in Work Habits and zero U’s in Cooperation at the 18week in the Spring, am I still eligible for culmination? A: YES B. NO

  19. AWARDS Mark E Award:  Students who have earned eleven or more E’s (for excellence) in both Work Habits and Cooperation, with no D’s, F’s, or U’s on the Fall 2011-2012 semester report card. Marksman Award: Students who have earned a 3.5 – 4.0 grade point average, with no D’s, F’s or U’s on the Fall 2011-2012 semester report card. Principal’s List:  Students who earned   a  3.8 - 4.0 grade point average and all E's  for  excellence in both Work Habits and  Cooperation with no D's or F's  on  the Fall 2011-2012 semester report card. Perfect Attendance Award:  Students with perfect attendance for five consecutive semesters at Revere. Five Semester Marksman Award: Students who earned the Marksman Award for five consecutive semesters at Revere. Revere Recognition Award: Students nominated by the faculty who have shown numerous examples of school service. Individual Excellence Award:  Outstanding students nominated by the faculty who have been successful at Revere given all odds. President’s Education Award: An award issued by the President of the United States & the U.S. Secretary of Education to those students who have maintained a 3.5 grade point average throughout middle school (Five Semester Marksman) and score in the Advanced range in BOTH English/Language Arts and Mathematics on standardized testing in 7th grade. Department Awards: Students nominated by the faculty who have shown excellence in a particular subject area. Amy Alcott:  Amy Alcott was a former PE teacher at Revere and this award recognizes the most outstanding female athlete. Art Merryman:  Art Merryman was a former PE teacher at Revere and this award recognizes the most outstanding male athlete. Principal’s Award:  Two students nominated by the faculty who excel in both academics and leadership. AEE Award:  Students who  achieve  a  4.0  grade  point  average,  receiving  all  E's  for  Excellence  in  Work  Habits  and  Cooperation  over  three  years  at  Revere. Significant Achievement Award:  Students nominated by teachers for making significant progress and achievement all three years at Revere. FariYashar Academic Excellence Award: FariYashar was an Assistant Principal at Paul Revere who established a scholarship for the top two students who  achieve  a  4.0  grade  point  average,  receiving  all  E's  for  Excellence  in  Work  Habits  and  Cooperation  and  scoring  the  highest  on  standardized  testing  over  three  years  at  Revere. American Legion Award: Two students nominated by the faculty who have shown exemplary leadership within their class.
