  4. WikiSpaces Wikis are web pages that students can use to write, edit, and add elements, such as images and video, to create collaborative projects."-web 2.0•how-to for educators

  5. WikiSpaces-ISD833-MS-ELT We will use the ISD833-MS-ELT wiki for posting of information, group collaboration, and problem solving.  Everyone can view pages, but only members of this wiki (ELT Members) can edit pages.

  6. iPad2s • Wiki includes document regarding general use • Share ideas and post questions on wiki.

  7. Technology and Education It's about the verbs, not the nouns....     Something to consider.... "Everything is amazing right now."

  9. WHY? "These standards help define the comprehensiveness necessary in designing and developing options for gifted learners at the local level."

  10. Guiding Principles • Giftedness is dynamic and constantly developing • Giftedness is found among students from a variety of backgrounds • Standards should focus on student outcomes rather than practices

  11. Guiding Principles (continued) • Educators are broadly defined as administrators, teachers, counselors and other instructional support • "Programming" rather than "program"

Standard 1: Learning & Development Educators, recognizing the learning and developmental differences of students with gifts and talents, promote ongoing self-understanding, awareness of their needs, and cognitive and affective growth of these students in school, home, and community settings to ensure specific student outcomes.

  14. Inner/Outer Circle Activity Two concentric circles. Equal number of people in both circles.  The Question: Thinking about Standard 1, what do we do to support this practice?

  23. Small Group Discussion: By Site Set the Stage: Review needs from May 5 and look for common themes. How can you support each other to share the work? Deliverable: Set site-specific goal and action steps for the 2011-2012 year. Include a proposed meeting schedule with objectives.                                                             A possible form for your group...

  24. Small Group Discussion:  Content Area Share your building goals and action steps. How does this impact YOUR work? Are there thoughts about lessons, technology, etc. that you'd like to "run by" your content area colleagues? How might you use the content area page on the wiki? It is YOURS to build!

  25. Final Site Check-in     Any thoughts about your building plan now that you have had a chance to meet with content areas colleagues from the other sites?

  26.   Future Meetings     October 27th and February 8th ERHS Staff Development Room 7:30 a.m-3:30 p.m. Thoughts about objectives?

  27.   Nuts and Bolts...  Vouchers-Time spent above and beyond contract duties. As a general rule, this can be meeting, but not reading.... Please send to Laura Vogel periodically. Requesting Resources-Clear this through the ELT team and then order through Laura Vogel. cc the case manager  Subs for observations or planning-Clear this through the ELT team and then send vouchers to Laura Vogel.
