  3. Display Devices • What is adisplay device? • Output device that visually conveys information • Information on display device sometimes called soft copy • Monitor houses display device as separate peripheral • The different types are: • LCD Monitor • CRT Monitor • Plasma Monitor

  6. CRT Monitors • What is aCRT monitor? • Contains cathode-ray tube (CRT) • Screen coated with tiny dots of phosphor material • Each dot consists of a red, blue, and green phosphor

Printers • What is anon-impact printer? • Forms characters and graphics without striking paper • Ink-jet printer sprays tiny drops of liquid ink onto paper • Prints in black-and-white or color on a variety of paper types • What is an Inkjet printer? • It is a type of non-impact printer that forms characters and graphics by spraying tiny drops of liquid ink onto a piece of paper.
