  1. 8th Grade Online Registration March 18 - 25

  2. General Information • You will be registering for either the Core Language Arts/Social Studies/Science pathway or Honors Language Arts/Social Studies/Science pathwayand your electives. • You will be placed in Math according to your instructional needs. • Instructional needs are based on MSP scores along with grades and teacher input. • If you would like to be a TA for a teacher or Mrs. Vevang in the attendance office, you must ask the teacher or Mrs. Vevang. The adult will email this request to our data processor, Mrs. Barnes.

  3. Honors Self-Select Criteria/Information • Must have met standard (400) on the Reading MSP • Also if you are in honors now and would like to continue you must select honors. You will NOT be automatically rolled up. • If you pass the MSP this year and want honors, we will entertain that option in the fall

  4. Log on to Student Access athttp://family.kent.wa-k12.net/Click: Courses for 2013-2014

  5. Click: Update Requests

  6. Scroll through the available courses. Click your choice to highlight it.Click the Add Course button.Repeat this process so that there are two courses on the right.

  7. Course Numbers and Names Core Pathway Honor Pathway Honor English (ENG 805/ENG 806) Your Social Studies and Science classes with be entered at a later date but will follow the same pathway you have already chosen. • Core English (ENG 803/ENG 804) • Your Social Studies and Science classes with be entered at a later date but will follow the same pathway you have already chosen.

  9. We can not make any promises that you will get your first choice of electives but we will try our best. • You may have a support class instead of an elective if you do not meet standards on the MSP. So do not get mad at us if you do not get the elective you want!

  11. Scroll through the available courses. Click your choice to highlight it.Click the Add Course button.You Must put in 3 alternates that you would want to take.

  12. Click on Selected. Make sure that your choices are listed.If they are, log out.

  13. Reminders • Register online for your classes between now and March 25th. • Show your parents your choices • Mrs. Hart or Ms. Ranzoni will be in your class on March 25thto help you complete registration. • Remember to make sure you have your laptops on March 25th.
