Library Student Student Learning Outcome • Be able to get on Delta College Library’s website and search the library catalog and the subscription online Databases on and off the campus • Understand where to go to apply for a library card or check out library materials. • Be able to locate books of interest in the library • Be able to locate English and foreign language dictionaries in both print and electronic formats • Understand the functions of Reference Desk

  4. Type the title and select “title” from the dropdown menu before clicking on search.

  5. Click on Details to find bibliographic information

  6. Click here to see more info., including the subject headings Location of the book and specific address for the book in the library

  7. How to Conduct a Limit Search • Conduct a subject or author or words search • Click on Limit Search and select DVDs, VHS and Other Visual Materials from Format to display audiovisual materials

  8. Expand your search by clicking on any subject or geographic terms to find more items on the subject

  11. Conduct an Effective Subject Search • Click on Subject from Basic Search • Identify keywords or phrase for the search • Limit your search to full-text articles before clicking on the search button

  12. Click on the title link to display the full-text article Evaluate the sources to see whether they are well-written publications with insights that would help you build your argument or statement “Word Count” serves as a clue that the articles are lengthy research articles
