  1. The dengue fever in nassaubahamas2011a study of the areas Leader Letisha Scott Members Angelique Aranha, Tyrese Watson, LatrellCumberbatch

  2. THE QUESTION • What areas of Nassau Bahamas had the most Dengue fever cases in The Bahamas in 2011?

  3. OUR HYPOTHESIS • We believe that the south and the east areas of Nassau had the most Dengue cases because they have a lot more flooding and swampy areas than the north and the west.

  4. Procedure • Get information from the Ministry of Health for dengue fever in the year 2011 • Analyze the information to see how many males had dengue fever and how females got dengue fever in a month. Use the month with the most cases of fever for good results • Compare the results on a bar or a pie graph. • Say if our hypothesis is supported or not supported. This is our conclusion.

  5. RESULTS • The Ministry of Health reported 7000 cases of Dengue Fever up to August, 2011. • Of these 7000 cases, the majority were from the Eastern and Western areas of New Providence. See our Bar graph following:-

  6. CONCLUSION • Our hypothesis was partly supported. The East did have the most cases but not the South. Instead the West had more cases than the South. • We recommend that these areas have extra spraying of insecticide by the air planes and people in these areas should stay indoors, put on more repellant and wear long clothing to cover their arms and legs. Let stop the Dengue Forever!
