  3. OSPole RLPole OSSh OSSh 1 : SBatt RLCL RISE RLDes • Suppose a pole was located at the offset shown 1 : SBatt 1 : STD WTD • The RL of the pole at that offset can be measured • The design RL of the formation can be calculated

  4. RLPole OSPole RLDes OSSh OSSh 1 : SBatt RLCL RISE • At the batter point the RLPole = RLDes 1 : SBatt 1 : STD WTD • Write a formula that calculates the RLDes at the pole offset i.e. when the RLDes = RLPole then the batter point has been found
