  2. Rural ADJECTIVE Related to the countryside, places that are not heavily populated where many people work in agriculture (farming)

  3. Urban ADJECTIVE Related to cities, places that have a large population, high population density, and diverse economies

  4. Megacity NOUN A extremely large city, especially that has grown very quickly in the developing world Lagos, Nigeria

  5. Population Density NOUN The concentration of people (usually measured per square mile or kilometer) Ex: a high population density = VERY CROWDED

  6. Metropolitan Area NOUN The land (and resident population) that includes a city plus its suburbs

  7. infrastructure NOUN The human constructed modifications to land (highways, railroads, reservoirs, sewers) that make city life possible Atlanta’s downtown connector freeway
