What Worked / Didn’t Work in 2009 • Observations of Committee / Staff • Challenges due to newly-formed committee • But clear direction as to goal in modifying language of Sunshine Act • Communications at times lacking within committee as pace of healthcare bill discussions quickened in Congress • Lack of activism by our client-side members’ organizations • Significant Accomplishments or Progress • Likely success in having language friendly to marketing research in Sunshine Act • Supporting role in MA FAQ; key role in MN FAQ change submission; submitted two amicus briefs for IMS with CASRO • Succeeded in getting MRA and CASRO to work with PMRG on MN FAQ changes; broad cooperation among PMRG, CASRO, and MRA in GA

Committee Goals for 2010 • Goal 1:Membership education and communication • Monitor legislative, judicial, regulatory, and statutory measures affecting the market research profession at the state and federal level • Provide regular updates to membership through OC, email alerts, meetings, and appropriate public relations • Share changes to statutes and impact on market research • Goal 2: Provide legislative/regulatory response as needed • Inform policymakers and lawmakers of our issues • Lobby legislative and regulatory bodies adversely impacting profession • Coordinate appropriate membership action
