  1. WEB VIEWING INSTRUCTIONS • Right click on your computer mouse and choose Full Screen. • Press the space bar each time you are ready to move to the next slide.

  2. MODIFICATIONS TO AGPS/CFMS TEXT PROCESSING The changes involve the elimination of the secondary text screens currently used to insert and delete text. The insertions and deletions are now made on the primary screens, which are explained in this presentation.

  3. Inserting and Deleting Text Lines The AGPS user is provided the capability to delete or insert lines of text for a valid text record.

  4. To insert or delete text, several conditions have to be met: • The area to which text is to be inserted or deleted must be on the screen. • The user can only insert or delete as many lines as are shown on the screen. • When referred to a line number, it is the line’s position on the screen.

  5. Completing The Procedure • Type the screen name (i.e. RMOD) in the Enter Function field and press ENTER. • To insert or delete text, type the text transaction (GET) in the Enter Function field and using the TAB key, move to the document or reference number field(s) and enter the desired record to be changed. Press ENTER. The text screen will appear with formatted text. • Type C (CHANGE) in the Enter Function field.

  6. DELETING LINES • Using the TAB key, move to the TEXT Action field and type X (delete). • Using the TAB key, move to the Line Number field and enter the text line(s) to be deleted (as a single line, i.e., 1, 2, etc., or a line range 1-4, or ALL [all lines] ).

B The Line Number should be the number of the line on the screen to be deleted. B Multiple lines can be deleted consecutively. B The text line number refers to the Line Number of the number of lines displayed B on the screen. . . . 1-4 X

  8. The text screen will return with all lines that were not deleted.

  10. The delete all (“X ALL’) function will permanently delete text. Before using the “X ALL” function, please be sure you do not need the text. Some text screens will retrieve text from another database (i.e. RMOD will get the description from the commodity database), but custom text will be permanently deleted.

  12. If overwriting existing text that has been deleted using “ALL” , with‘CHANGE’ in the Function Line, tab to the Line Number field and enter ‘UPLD’. Using the TAB key, move to the first null (.) line and type desired text. • The UPLD process is required for text screens that pull a text description from a text data base (i.e. commodity data base CSPC or text data base TXLN). When using screens that access these text data bases (i.e. RSPC - OMOD - OCMD - KMOD - STXL) and the user needs to delete ALL text lines and completely overwrite the existing description from a text data base, the UPLD (upload) process must be followed.

B Tab to the Line Number Field and enter ‘UPLD’. B Using the correct TYPE Code begin typing TEXT at the first NULL (.) B character until text input is complete or screen is full (up to 9 lines). B Press Enter. . . . UPLD

  14. I NSERTING LINES • Using the TAB key, move to the Text Action field and type I (insert). • Using the TAB key, move to the Line Number field and enter the text line number after which text is to be inserted. • Press ENTER.

  16. The text screen will return with the line identified in the line number field followed by a blank (null (.) line). • The screen is ready for text to be entered.

  18. For Insert action, type C (CHANGE) in the Enter Function field. • Using the TAB key, move to the first null text line and type the desired text. • When complete press ENTER.
