  1. Rationale for Teaching PDHPE in Schools The teaching of good health is increasingly important in our ever-changing society. Health affects children and adults, so it is important that concepts of personal development, health and physical education are taught in Primary Schools in order to encourage healthy lifestyles into adulthood.

  2. Aims of Teaching PDHPEPDHPE as taught in Primary Schools in Australia, aims to enhance the students’ development , life-long learning and knowledge and understanding of the skills, values and attitudes which allow healthy, active and long lives. Healthy Lives!

PDHPE in schools strives to achieve better health for individual students and the community through the teaching of the 8 strands.
