  2. The Greater Binghamton Coalition Was formed in the fall of 2002 to implement the BC Plan that was commissioned by Broome County and authored by Angelou Economics. The twelve-member Coalition is a unique consortium of public and private community leaders representing government, economic and workforce development agencies, education and the business sector. The coalition partners with local development groups to provide local and prospective businesses with all the information they need to grow and prosper in the region.

  3. Role in Economic Development • Serve as the one-point-of-contact for economic development working in partnership with 15 municipal and non-profit economic development agencies through Broome and Tioga Counties. • Serving as the one-point-of-contact, facilitate all inquiries from companies looking to expand from within or from outside of Greater Binghamton with our economic development partners with the ability to trigger the GB Rapid Response Team when appropriate. • Maintain the Greater Binghamton Economic Development Web Portal to promote economic development on the internet within and outside our region. • Create and manage with our economic development partners a comprehensive marketing plan to promote Greater Binghamton that compliments the web portal focusing on our target industries. • Coordinate the creation of a physical one-stop-shop for economic development and business development incubator. • Facilitate the Greater Binghamton Economic Development Project Management Team. • Facilitate committees for economic development that include: • Brownfield redevelopment • Regional WiFi • Passenger Train Service

Multi Stage Marketing Plan • Maintain economic development web portal- www.greaterbinghamton.com • Create marketing print material and periodic newsletter • Strategically market available sites • Join targeted state and national industry associations • Attend targeted industry trade shows • Sponsor strategic Economic Development events & trade shows in Greater Binghamton • Advertise in targeted journals, and those focused on site selectors • Use local events, Dick’s Sporting Goods Open, Spiedie Fest, Mets, Senators, BU Bearcats, Chris Thater Memorial and Tri-Cities Opera, to market to developers, site selectors, brokers, etc.
