5. Graduate Admissions Application Process • USF Online Application is submitted by the applicant. • Applications load to USF within 24 hours • Incoming Mail is received.

6. Mail is sorted and referred to the Banner Document Management System (BDMS) for scanning. • 3-7 business days • 14-21 business days during peak times NOTE: Departmental documents such as recommendation letters, statement of purpose, writing samples, DVD, CD, portfolios, etc. are forwarded to the graduate program.

7. Application Fee Received? • If “YES” referred to Admission Advisor’s queue for review (decision code PR). • 3-7 business days • 14-21 business days during peak times • If “No” an email is sent to applicant for application fee (decision code RM). • Open variable, pending action from applicant. • Applications are canceled after the term begins. NOTE: Daily Application Detail Report will list all applications statuses.

9. Referred to Admission Advisor’s Queue for Review • Residency • Legal Conduct • Academic Requirements • 3-7 business days • 14-21 business days during peak times

10. Referred to College/Department • Complete applications (GAR Packets) are applications that have a transcript and test scores. Email is sent to advise applicant of status. GAR Packet is sent to college which then forwards to department. • 3-7 business days • 14-21 business days during peak times • Open GARs are canceled after the term begins (CN).

11. Referred to College/Department • Incomplete applications (MIPs*) are applications that may be missing a transcript and/or test scores. Email is sent to applicant requesting missing items. MIP is sent to college which then forwards it to department. • 3-7 business days • 14-21 business days during peak times • MIPs are canceled after the term begins (CP). *Missing Item Packet (MIP) will be issued with transcripts pending the test score.

12. College/Department - Decision • The decision may take less than 30 days or longer depending if additional department requirements have not been received by the department. Department should contact applicant. • 30 days for a decision • 60-90 days for a decision depending if additional department requirements NOTE: Open GARs are canceled after the term begins (CN).

13. Graduate Admissions – Decisions • The department sends the decision to the college. • The college then forwards the decision to Graduate Admissions. • Graduate Admissions processes the decision within 24 hours of receipt. • Official acceptance letter is printed and mailed within 3- 7 business days.
