Recent JobQuest Enhancements • American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) • Job Orders now include specific ARRA data points to meet employer ARRA requirements • Job seekers have the ability to search for ARRA specific jobs • More Job Postings available in JobQuest • Database synchronization with JobCentral • Database synchronization with Commonwealth Employment Opportunities (CEO) • Bulk Job Order Posting • Ability to upload bulk job orders into JobQuest through an Excel template

JobQuest Redesign Objectives • Meet Federal and Massachusetts ARRA Requirements • Provide employers the ability to post jobs in JobQuest that are not open to the public but are needed for ARRA job tracking • JobQuest Facelift • Attract employers and job seekers to the website • Reduce content driven web pages • Make website more intuitive • Streamline User Interface • Reduce number of pages to perform a function • Simplify the data entry for the user interface

  10. What Job Seeker Wants • Job Seeker wants to FIND A JOB • Today’s site - this feature is difficult to find and the link is not obvious • New site - Find Jobs feature is prominent on the Home Page • Reduces steps to obtain a quick search • Invites Job Seeker to go beyond the Home Page

Other Home Page Features • Exciting Look and Feel with new colors • Clear navigation to site features • Functional navigation is provided at the top of page and will be consistent throughout the site • Quick access to JobQuest features highlighted to the right • Functional links are not buried in text • Simplified Registration • Updated Helpful Links • New JobQuest statistics • Top 10 occupations and active job posting counts

  13. Current Job Search (Job Bank) • Multi-page process to enter Selection Criteria • After two pages, there are more steps to get to Results • Confusing external links to other job search sites

New Job Search Criteria • All possible search criteria on one page • Easier to read with criteria spread out on page • Location search expanded to include search by city/town • Added reset criteria button on same page to activate new search • Removed rarely used criteria from the search feature

  15. New Job Details Page • Better use of real estate • Provide link to employer’s site for application purposes • Clearer navigation to job detail options (e.g., map to job location)

Job Posting Objectives • Reduce number of pages for Job Posting • Reduce data entry responsibility for the employer by pre-filling data entry whenever possible • Eliminate data entry that is not required • Simplify selection of related ONET occupation titles • Simplify navigation to optional Job Posting features • Mandatory and desired (new option) skills • Experience and certifications • Employer specific job screening questions

Current Occupation Title Page • Long list of occupation titles to select from • No filtering capabilities to select occupation titles • Adding experience and job skills is not intuitive • Job skills in JobQuest all default to mandatory • Screening questions option is hidden and only provided after the job is posted

New Occupation Title Page • Ability to filter the Occupation Titles by Occupation Category • Adding Experience and Job Skills is more intuitive • Job Skills can now be defined as Mandatory or Desired to provide better candidate matching results • Screening Questions feature is more prominent and intuitive for the employer

Getting the Word Out • Set up a JobQuest Information Page on massworkforce – PowerPoint of Screen Shots • Place a Notice on Current Site for Users About the Pending Arrival of a New JobQuest • Call-in Sessions for Career Center Staff – During the Week of October 19 • Launch – Last Week in October
