  3. Challenges Remember, problem drinking can take many forms: • Drinking during working hours • Drinking during breaks or before coming on shift • Regular heavy drinking outside of working hours • Getting drunk outside of working hours

Education & training • Ideal for team leaders, supervisors, line managers, senior management, HR and occupational health teams • Learn to spot the signs, raise the subject sensitively yet effectively and provide a minimal or brief intervention • Duration and content can be tailored to your organisation

Expectations of an effective alcohol policy • Accident/sickness/absenteeism rates will be reduced • Work performance will improve • Staff believed to have alcohol related problems will be offered treatment/referral/help • Treatment offered will be successful • Managers will acquire skills to administer the policy effectively
