Ramadan is here meaning it is time for you to start off on a healthy and pristine food choice that you can treat yourself to on suhoor or iftar. • This article consists easy Ramadan recipes iftar based that you can certainly consider during your fasting period. • Since it is the holiest month on the Islamic Calendar, let’s start with something healthy and filling.

Kabuli Pulao • Ingredients: • 1 Cup Basmati rice (soaked for an hour) • 100 Gram Ghee or cooking oil • 1 Cup Onion, finely chopped • 2 Tomatoes, chopped • 1 Cup Curd • 1/2 Cup Fresh pomegranate seeds • 1 Cup Coriander leaves, chopped • 30 Gram Green chilli • 1/2 Cup Kabuli channa (parboiled with salt) • 2 Tbsp Onion, fried • 3 Whole red chilli

  4. 1 tsp Ginger garlic paste • 2 Brown cardamom • 5 Green cardamom • 1/2 tsp Black peppercorn • 1 tsp Salt • 2 Green chilllies, chopped • 4 Cloves • 2 Cinnamon sticks • 2 Mace • 4 Bay leaves • 1 tsp Coriander powder • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder

  5. Procedure: • Boil rice in water. Add a tsp of salt to taste. Drain the water and keep it aside to set. • Next, in a deep pan, add oil and saute mace, green cardamom, whole red chilli, bay leaves, black pepper, brown cardamom, cinnamon stick along with cloves. Now, add ginger garlic paste to this mix and saute well. • When ready, add chopped onions to the pan and saute till golden brown. Add salt, turmeric, coriander powder and green chilli. Mix well. • Now, add chopped onions to the pan along with coriander leaves and chana. Mix well, and cover the pan with a lid.

Once cooked, add yogurt and mix well. • Now, layer the cooked rice onto the channa dollops, followed by golden brown fried onions and let it cook for about 5 to 10, cover with a lid. • When done, open the lid and mix the rice and chana together to form the kabuli rice. • Garnish with pomegranate seeds and serve hot. • You may find a number of Ramzan recipes online but nothing beats the craving and taste of the traditional kabuli rice recipe. • Make the most of your Iftar with this fun to learn Ramzan special dishes and have a precious fasting time with friends and folks.
