  3. Called to serve • We believe every person is sacred and is created in God’s image and likeness. • Everyone has a right to have access and enough food to sustain a life with dignity. • Poverty and hunger are fundamental threats to human life and dignity and demand a response from believers.

  5. Partners • Catholic Social Services Food Pantry • Local Farmers • Chaminade Julienne Catholic High School Students • University of Dayton students

  6. What we do • Find people willing to give access to their food • Recruit volunteers • Train leaders • Arrange gleaning time and date • Transport people to the site • Transport produce to CSS

  7. Started small with a goal of 70 pounds. • Students invited neighbors and local farmers markets to donate produce. • All it took was asking!

  9. In India, 22 women were killed each day in dowry related murders in 2007.

  10. We were shocked to see the quality of the produce that otherwise would be wasted!
