  1. Global Water Watch – Gulf of Mexico Alliance Project 2011 US Study Tour June 3 – 13, 2011 This project is primarily funded by the U.S. EPA Gulf of Mexico Program Office US EPA/Auburn University EPA-MX-95413709-0 agreement.

Study Tour Objective Participants in this Study Tour were intended to visit environmental education centers and farms (cattle, fish and poultry) with Best Management Practices in place to help minimize the input of nutrients, sediments and pathogens to water bodies and streams that eventually flow to the Gulf of Mexico. Visitors also met with volunteer water monitoring groups from Alabama leading to strengthen partnerships among citizens interested in the protection and restoration of water resources. They are expected to share their experiences with other Mexican farmers after their return home. 3
