Where do we want to be – by when? • 16 May 2011: • we open ICD-11 alpha browser to public • viewing & reviewing tool • CAVEATs: • “interim work” “as is” “don’t try this at home” • AIM • Engage with expecting outside community • Openness, transparency • Try out some BETA PROCESS now • I want to make a comment • I want to make a proposal • I want to take part in Field Trials • I want to translate • I want to use it in special development projects

Where do we want to be – by when? • 16 May 2015 onwards • ICD goes to WHA • Print Linearization – Morbidity as today – Official Mortality Lists • Simple resolution • ICD 20** has a continuous update maintenance • Real time update proposals • Annual frozen release • AIM: replace the current UR process - • HOPE • Engage with active users • Continuous Maintenance • PERPETUAL BETA • I want to make a comment • I want to make a proposal • I want to take part in Field Trials • I want to translate • I want to use it in special projects

WHY ? • The glass is one third full • Denominator: Minimal Content Model of Mb linearization • Definitions • Inclusion – Exclusions • If applicable: Severity, Temporal • We never asked the FULL ICD be 100% complete • Beta was aimed at crowdsourcing • Start early – start simple - consult often… • Near 50 % completion in May 2012 is acceptable
