  2. Who Is FRWA? • Florida Rural Water Association is a non-profit, non-regulatory professional association that serves large and small water, wastewater and agricultural facilities throughout the State of Florida. • Our primary purpose is to assist these facilities with every phase of operation.

  4. What Is Source Water? • Source water is defined as water that is consumed by humans; • Surface water • Ground water

  5. Chipola River Partnership • Chipola Watershed Source Water Protection Plan Created • Established an Educational Outreach Campaign through a television program called “River Talks” • 2006 Rivers Alive Project • Stream Restoration Project • Unpaved Road 319 grant project

  6. Jackson County Well Abandonment Project • FDEP, NWFWMD, and FRWA team together to abandon contaminated wells in Delineated areas of Jackson County • Phase 1 – 12 Arsenic wells near Merritt Mill Pond • Phase 2 – 13 Private Wells in Delineated Area of Jackson County • FDEP and NWFWMD Funded
