Skills and abilities required to be successful in the career._________________________________________________ -Communicate • Listen to others, understand, and ask questions. • Express ideas clearly when speaking. • Read and understand work-related materials. -Reason and Problem Solve • Analyze ideas and use logic to determine their strengths and weaknesses. • Identify problems and review information. Develop, review, and apply solutions. • Understand new information or materials by studying and working with them. -Manage Oneself, People, Time and Things • Check how well one is learning or doing something. • Decide how to spend money to get the work done and keep track of how the money was used. • Manage the time of self and others. -Work with People • Be aware of others' reactions and change behavior in relation to them. • Teach others how to do something. • Look for ways to help people.

  3. 2. Required education (Degree, # of years of college/training, etc.) -Have a high school diploma or GED; -Complete short-term on-the-job training. You also have to have helpful electives like: - Art -Clothing Design and Sewing -Drama -Stagecraft -Textiles *You have to have at least 2 or 4 years of college.

  4. 3. Tasks or common work activities typically done in this career. • Working in theater also participate in school plays or something close to that. • Keep a portfolio with photographs of your work. • You also have to have an a Associate Degree or a Bachelor's Degree in fashion design.

  5. 4. Salary range for my career. a Fashion Stylist can make anywhere from $17,800 up to around $84,000 a year $21.27 / hour Percent Growth 10.5%

  6. 5. I need to take the following steps to prepare myself for my chosen career. Go to college and take a major like these: -Apparel and Textiles -Dramatic Arts -Fashion Design -Fiber, Textile, and Weaving Arts -Theatre Design and Technology
