  11. TVL Scholarship Goals

Eligibility • Requirements are the same as the McCombs full-time MBA program • Program acceptance is not required prior to applying for or competing in the competition • Ineligible groups include: • Current McCombs students (all programs) • Students who have already earned a U.S. MBA degree • Student already enrolled in another U.S. MBA program

TVL Scholarship Scholarship includes: • $10K/year scholarship • In-state tuition (savings of $15K/year) • Continued support from Texas Venture Labs throughout company development And…the following potential opportunities: • Admittance of company to TVL Accelerator after graduation • Consideration for post-grad position as Venture Partner

  15. TVL Scholarship Requirements • Resume • Statement of Interest (no more than 500 words) • Information Sheet • 60 to 90-Second Video Pitch (you must be included) • Business Executive Summary (2 pages) Visit http://bit.ly/TVLscholarship

Executive Summary and Video • Executive Summary and Video should include: • Market problem being addressed • Solution to the market problem • Competitive differentiation • Business model (how will it make money?) • Optional inclusions: • Management team • IP status • Financing information Include quantitative support for all major assertions

  17. Statement of Interest • Statement of Interest should include: • Why you are a good candidate for the scholarship • How it fits with your short-term and long-term goals • How the scholarship and MBA program will help you achieve those goals

  18. Additional FAQs • Does startup need to be in a certain stage? No, it can be already on the market or an idea on a napkin • Do I need a demo or prototype? No, but if you have mock-ups, prototypes or videos to reinforce your points you are welcome to use them • What kind of business should it be? Any type is acceptable as long as you can demonstrate a market need
