  2. MainCharacters • Higgins- professor of phonetics who transformed Eliza Doolittle • ElizaDoolittle- poor flower girl who is taught proper language and transformed into a duchess • Pickering- like Higgins in that he has an interest in phonetics, but he treats Eliza with more respect

  3. Main Characters • Alfred Doolittle- Eliza’s father who cares more for money than his daughter • Mrs. Higgins- Professor Higgin’s mother who does not approve of his experiment • Eynsford Hill’s- family of a mother, daughter, and son who appears throughout the story

  8. Brief Story Plot This story is about the transformation of a young poor flower girl into a girl that was able to pass herself off as a duchess. Henry Higgins, a professor of phonetics, takes her into his house and teaches her to speak perfect English and present herself.
