A: Helmet • What do you need to do prior to crossing a street or intersection? A: Make sure that drivers can always see you • What do you need to do before/while on a bicycle, skateboard, or roller-skates? A: Learn and follow the rules of the road • What do you always need to do while riding a bicycle, skateboard, or roller-skates? A: Respect traffic signals, stopping at all stop signs and stop lights

Bike and Safe Walking Safety billboard • Always wear a helmet • Look both ways for traffic • Wear bright colors • Make sure your tires have air in them • Use a backpack to carry your things • Always use hand signals when turning or stopping • Never ride against traffic • Use a light at night • Obey traffic regulations • Be careful at all intersections • Make eye contact with motorists to insure they know you are on the road • Use bike lane • Ride in a straight path at least three feet away from parked cars

  12. halloween safety SAFETY TIPS: • Dress children in reflective costumes • Make sure children can see clearly and stay together in a group or with adults • Stay on sidewalks when available and don’t cross the street until you reach an intersection • Parents should also carry a flashlight and go out with children until the age of 12 • Avoid homes without the lights on and go to familiar areas
