  3. TODAY: Reading checks 56-58 and XC due NOW. • Finish group project over immigrants/refugees. (10 min) • In your class notes, define and give examples of a “right” of a citizen from page 59. (5 min) • Complete worksheet 3.1 and hand in. (30 min)

  4. Immigrant= person who leaves one’s country to settle in another.Refugee=person who moves out of one’s country due to danger.

  5. PROCESS FOR CITIZENSHIP(I can describe how to become a citizen) • Apply—to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) • Age—18 or older • Resident—In country 5 years, in state 3 months • Moral Character—No crimes • Language—Read, write and speak • Knowledge—History and Government of U.S. • Loyal—Judge asks applicant to take oath • Citizenship Court:--Loyalty oath administered
