Today’s Learning Targets: • I can connect learning to the PCSD instructional Model. • I can explain to stakeholders the benefits of learning targets. • I can identify the four different types of learning targets. • I can write a clear learning target. • I can summarize the key components of a learning target.

  3. Parma City School District Instructional Model(5 Minutes.) • With a partner discuss: How do clear learning targets support our instructional model? • How do learning targets connect to assessment? • Share some of your responses with larger group.

  4. “Unwrapping the Learning Target” (15 minutes) • Review “Unwrapping the Learning Target” notes with a partner. • Write a response explaining why understanding learning targets extends beyond posting them in the classroom.

  5. 4 Types of Learning Targets • Knowledge/Understanding • Reasoning • Skills • Products • When writing your learning targets for you classroom, think about how the 4 types of learning targets fit to Bloom’s Taxonomy.

  6. Strand: Reading: Literature • Topic: Key Ideas and Details • Statement: Describe how characters in a story respond to major events and challenges.

  7. Word requiring clarity for students: describe

  8. Definition/synonym of unclear word: describe- portray, characterize, represent; recount, tell, relate

  9. Learning Target in Child Friendly Language: I can tell how the three little pigs in the story respond to the major events and challenges.
