The Syllabus • Can be found in two places: • Course Home • Doc Sharing • Also, did you get it from me, via email? • Read thoroughly • Be guided by the grading rubrics that are found in your syllabus....hint..hint • Pay close attention to the due dates • Stay on task and do not work ahead on the discussion board or the seminar options • Spend sufficient time on each unit..this is tough stuff

Seminar Discussions • Option 1 (preferred choice ) • When? • How? • Your role: show up and participate • What we do in seminar • Grading Rubrics found in syllabus • Option 2 (in case you must be absent ) • Due within 24 Hours of seminar • Alternate assignment • Grading criteria a little harder

On the Discussion Board • Be sure to check for more than one question! • Check to see if the units have more than one question • Use spell check option • Follow APA formatting & provide references • Understand what plagiarism is…yikes! • Use the Kaplan Library as a resource or APA websites • Refrain from chatting or small talk • Take that to the Chat board • Be respectful of one another!!

Assignments • Each unit has an assignment that you complete. • Once you complete each assignment, you will take a screen shot of the page indicated in the directions and save it to a Word Document. You will submit that document to me. • In Doc Sharing, you will find a tutorial ppt that provides directions on how to take a screen shot and paste it to a word document. Easier way: To take picture, click “PRT SCN” button. Then open up blank Word document. Click anywhere on blank page and click “paste”. Let’s Try It Now!

  9. Assessments • The Assessments are Activities that you will complete using the following resources: • The online VMO Simulations • The online VMO Study Guide • The internet • Your Kinn’s Medical Assisting textbook A+

  14. General Information • Have you read all the announcements? • Don’t forget to introduce yourself • Use Microsoft Word when submitting • Double check after you post • Paragraph transitions? • Spelling? • Logical? • Time Management

  15. Late Assignments • Make every attempt to submit your assignments on time • New Kaplan Late Policy…be sure to read it! Late work will not be accepted unless there are clear and compelling extenuating circumstances. You must contact me before the due date and fax me documentation to back up your excuses; ie: medical report. • Let me repeat that: Late work will not be accepted! • Keep in touch!
