  1. Ethnic and Religious Group Vocabulary SS7G8.a - Explain the differences between an ethnic group and a religious group. SS7G8.c - Compare and contrast the prominent religions in Southwest Asia (Middle East): Judaism, Islam, and Christianity. Bell-Ringer – Write down what you know about Judaism, Islam, and Christianity. PLACE YOUR BEHAVIOR CARD ON YOUR DESK.

  2. Instructions • Today we will be working in computer lab 131. • Some of you will be using google to define our new vocabulary words by creating a KIM Chart and others using 3-Column Notes. • Does anybody need a refresher on either of these note-taking styles? • Working by yourselves (not a group), you will go to google and google search the vocabulary word and complete your KIM Chart or 3-Column Notes. • Example – google search “Arab definition” • This is for a grade and I am checking for quality as well. If you finish, you may work on your ethnic group webquest. • Questions???

  3. Computer Lab Expectations • Computer room is like a library – you are to work without talking. • Do not sit near somebody that will get you distracted. I will move students if I feel that is not a good spot. • You only have today to complete the vocabulary. • If you have any questions, raise your hand and I will come around. Do not ask the person next to you. • No gum, food, or drinks of any kind. • Do not go to any websites not found on the vocabulary sheet or webquest. • No music. • You will need to bring: your behavior card, agenda, pen/pencil, vocabulary sheet, and webquest.

  4. Closing • Charades for the words: Bedouin, Five Pillars of Islam, Hajj, Monotheism, Nomad, Polytheism, Quran, Ramadan, and Torah. • Which vocabulary words fall into these categories??? • ChristianityJudaismIslam
