Reading Common Core State Standards: Through reading a diverse array of classic and contemporary literature as well as challenging informational texts in a range of subjects, students are expected to build knowledge, gain insights, explore possibilities, and broaden their perspective.   5. ELA (English Language Arts) Speaking and Listening/Language Vocabulary and conventions are treated in their own strand not because skills in these areas should be handled in isolation but because their use extends across reading, writing, speaking, and listening.

It is to be turned in on the day it is due. • Behavior • Any student receiving more than 4 behavior marks (including missing homework) during a 9 week period will receive a behavior indicator on their report card precluding them from receiving an award for that quarter.

  8. Other Information • Progress Reports • We have provided a rough calculation of the graded assessments that have been given in their respective subject areas thus far. This calculation should give you an idea of where your child stands in each subject area as of now.
