WP1: Network Coordination & Management • Objectives: • Ensuring that the network is appropriately coordinated and managed. • Configuration and follow up of rolling work plan for objectives fulfilment. • Ensuring that results are delivered on time and with appropriate quality. Financial management. Ensuring contract fulfilment. • Ensuring collaborative environment for implementation of JPA. • Consortium Agreement implementation and update.   2. WP1: Network Coordination & Management • 1.1. Network coordination. • Work scheduled in first 6 months (scheduled, actual): • In the framework of WP1, contribute to network working procedures “manual”, including communication principles. • Project Handbook created and attached as annex to D2. • Organisation of meetings. Production of minutes. • Coordination of meetings and minutes production: • - Kick-off 9-10 Feb 2004, Barcelona. • - Sci Workshop 19-20 Mar 2004, Brussels. • - 2nd Consortium meeting 15-16 Jul 2004, Edinburgh. • Assurance of proper basis for collaboration within a tight time schedule. • Support decision-making and consensus among partners. • Support provided at meetings and via e-mail. • Creation of initiation teams at kick-off. • Contingency decisions adopted at Sci Workshop regarding WP4, 5 & 6. • Creation of management and consultative bodies as needed, especially a Scientific Council. • NSC, WPL, AL created by contract and CA. Scientific Council created: • James Fickett (AstraZeneca), Jan van Bemmel (Erasmus MC), Martin Dugas (Universität München), Roderic Guigó (IMIM), Ángel Carracedo (Fundación Galega de Medicina Xenómica, USC), Reinhold Haux (University for Health Sciences, Medical Informatics and Technology, Austria). 2nd Consortium Meeting, Edinburgh, 15-16 July 2004

NMO is: Carlos Díaz (PM), Eva Molero (CEM), Cristina Borrás (FM) + administrative support. • Configuration and follow-up of agreed work plan for the first 6 months. • Milestone achievement control. Deliverables submitted. • Network management during the period. • Done continuously. Dealing with contract amendment (KI --> Univ. Leicester). Funding distribution. • INFOBIOMED to act as gateway site --> WP2. • Revision of results obtained during first 6 months - configuration and follow-up of agreed work plan for second 6 months. • Now! • Reporting. • D2: QMR #1. Production of minutes. • Assurance of proper basis for collaboration within a tight time schedule. • Support decision-making and consensus among partners. • Configuration and follow-up of agreed work plan for the second 6 months. • Network management during the period. • Funding control and distribution. • Complete Consortium formal changes. • Revision of results obtained during second 6-month period - configuration of agreed work plan for third 6-month period. • Reporting (QMR#2, QMR#3, preparation for QMR#4 and CS#1). REVIEW PROCESS: • WPL drafts outline and agrees with NMO • Pre-final version is sent to reviewers, who use quality criteria to review • Reviewers forms are gathered by NMO • Consolidated defect / amendment log is sent to WPL • WPL generates improved version. NMO moderates discussion until final draft is produced • All partners are asked for feedback on the final draft • Submission to EC 2nd Consortium Meeting, Edinburgh, 15-16 July 2004
