The Web Intelligence Group is devoted to doing its part to ensure Motorola is leader in this space, where intelligence truly is everywhere. The WIG focuses its attention where these two worlds converge, the user. Devoted to a harmonious union bridged by the user WIG provides services in the areas of Web Analytics, Usability, Visual Design and Web Development. Through our creative process we deliver focused, goal oriented and relevant experiences while aligning with our customer's expectations and goals.   12. WIG Project Workflow / Project Definition Requirements describe the website and the market into which the website will be introduced. The Client Survey clarifies several points, concepts, and ideas: site goals; audience; tone; scope; etc... A Creative Brief restates the client's wishes by organizing the answers from the Client Survey/Interview A High-Level Sitemap is a preliminary sitemap and a graphical representation of the architecture of a planned web site. And is used to estimate work The Project Plan includes the project overview, project schedule (including deliverables and methodology); a budget breakdown if applicable, as well as allocated hours The Kickoff Meeting is a review of project’s assumptions, contact list, roles & responsibilities, project plan, training opportunities, etc…

  13. WIG Project Workflow / Site Structure The Content Matrix specifies who is responsible for the content of each page in the site. An Editorial Board consists of individuals named in the Content Matrix and maintains consistent editorial, graphic design and management policies.. A Detailed Sitemap is a graphical representation of the architecture of a web site. Low-fidelity Wire-frames and Navigational Modeling are used by the WIG team to derive final wire-frames. Wire-frames are purely informational, architectural schematic that shows major content placement, primary and secondary navigation, and perhaps light functionality

  14. WIG Project Workflow / Visual Design Conceptual Designs are simplified designs used to "flesh out" multiple design concepts including static graphics as well as interactive elements. While Detailed Page Designs are final representations of what pages will look like. Ergo Documents illustrate a complete layout of a page or screen with definitions for layout areas and active areas. Non-iDENPhone Websites: HTML Templates Base HTML templates, used to create derivative HTML pages Style Guide Specifies details of design style: Page dimensions; Headers; Colors; Typography; etc… Non-iDENPhone Websites

  15. WIG Project Workflow / Development & Production Content Delivery refers to the final delivery of content as identified in the Content Matrix. Content not captured in the Content Matrix is outside of scope and should be incorporated after launch. Client-Side Development includes to creation of HTML, CSS, Flash, etc… Content is also integrated with HTML at this time. Backend Development (if required) is handled by an external (Non-WIG) team. This step is optional depending on the project. System Testing is also handled by an external (Non-WIG) Team not WIG

  16. WIG Project Workflow / Launch A Deployment Plan is used for deployment traceability and for identifying responsibilities it also documents a back-out plan. Launch: Deployment to Production Post Launch includes a Post Mortem, Maintenance Plan review, etc… Roadmap: a plan or vision that describes the long-term strategy for the website’s evolution during the course of time.

  17. WIG Project Workflow / Usability A Persona Matrix is used to identify potential types of web-site users while Scenarios flesh out sample sessions. Task Analysis is a analyses of what a user is required to do in terms of actions and/or cognitive processes to achieve a task. A Competitive Analysis Used to help gain a better understanding of the competitive landscape. A User Survey is a one-on-one process in a watch-and-learn approach

Monet Ticketing The WIG team accepts and resolves properly routed MONET tickets for "iDEN IT Webmaster Support" issues entered at: http://dyno.mot.com/Question/Questionmain3.asp?location=833&category=2&tickettype=3260 • Monet Ticket with required information (such as description of work, requested date, etc…) submitted using link provided. * • Monet Ticket received by WIG and assigned to the appropriate WIG Team member within 48hrs. • Communications are established via telephone or email in order to discuss details of request. If required, content is provided by the ticket owner. Estimated effort of work is provided. • Work is completed and ticket considered resolved. • Client, ticket owner, receives email notification informing them of ticket resolution. Client verifies ticket resolution. If client not satisfied, client should contact assigned WIG team member. • It is requested that if Client is satisfied with work they close the ticket providing feedback. • *Training on Monet available from the WIG Site: http://compass.mot.com/go/wigsite

  20. WIG Job Descriptions Producer: Manages the creative process from beginning to end. Is responsible for weekly project status reports, tracking deliverable deadlines, organizing meetings and conference rooms, taking meeting notes and assigning tasks to team members. Typically interacts between Client, PM and WIG team. Interaction Designer: Is responsible for user research, persona development, interactive interface development and in general is the advocate to the user. Also referred to as the User Experience designer (UXD) Information Architect: Is responsible for Site Map development and wire-frame development. Works with Interaction Designer very closely during discovery phases to ensure the user experience is carried through into the web site. Graphic Designer: Converts wire-frame layouts into web pages (generally in Photoshop). Is responsible for concept design for interface elements like forms, tables, colors and fonts. Typically this phase is referred to as look and feel. However a more accurate description is the presentation, the feel is managed by the interaction designer. The GD is generally responsible for web ready art. HTML Developer: Converts web ready art into html files. may also be involved with the UXD in developing working prototypes for testing interactive elements like navigation or advanced application interfaces. The code is handed off the development team. Content Specialist: Is responsible for developing and maintaining the "tone" of communication for the website. Works closely with the Marketing group in writing content for each page of the website. Maintains a content matrix which contains headlines, sub headlines, body content labels table headers etc. for each page. Works with producer in maintaining this matrix. Content Management Tool Admin: Is responsible for administration of the content management tool. This tool is predominately used for web site updates. The admin works with the IA in defining the user architecture of the admin tool to ensure it mirrors the actual website in order to ease the maintenance.
