Summary • This session discusses how, Title III support made it possible for the UVI’s Information & Technology Services component to improve significantly technologies, programs, and services affecting faculty, staff and students. This includes, especially, improvements to the University’s ERP Banner and its Course Management System, Blackboard.

Globally Interactive. • New President 2010 • Two campuses (St. Thomas & St. Croix) • 40 miles of sea water between them • New academic center on St. John • Approximately 2500 students • Heavy reliance on videoconferencing • Mostly a commuter school

  4. ITS @ UVI • Reorganization in 2005 • Merge Libraries & IT • Increasing role for librarians in student success and faculty development • 2010-2011 Changes • Consolidated oversight of two campus libraries • Greater coordination with enterprise applications and networking

Learning Resources & Faculty Technology Services - Objectives • By 2012, increase to 90% the number of faculty consistently using the instructional technologies available at UVI. • By 2012, 60% of the full time faculty will participate in training to build capacity among faculty for using UVI’s technology (i.e. smart classroom equipment, e-learning applications).
