  2. Highlights from 2012 • Atlantic Paddling Symposium – Liscombe Nova Scotia Happy Birthday ! PC’s 40th Anniversary year! 40th Anniversary decal went out to over 8000 paddlers in Rapid Media Buyers Guide 2013 • National Trade Shows: Toronto, Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary and Ottawa (thanks to Ontario Tourism and National Search and Rescue Secretariat) Paddle Canada Executive Director's Report for 2012 AGM- March 9, 2013

Highlights from 2012 • MEC Paddlefests: Halifax, Toronto, Burlington, Edmonton, Ottawa and Victoria • Sent PC’s Big Canoe to Queen’s Jubilee River Pageant with the Canadian Canoe Museum • Welcomed directors Bryan Sarauer (Saskatchewan) & Jeff Martin (Newfoundland) filling interim vacancies on the board of directors. Highlights from 2012 • Negotiated a new Insurance Agreement allowing Scouts Canada access to PC programs, solving over a decade old issue. • Added SUP Yoga as an Sanctioned activity under our liability insurance policy. • Welcomed staff member Dawn Callanto PC as event co-ordinator for National Paddling Week 2013 Paddle Canada Executive Director's Report for 2012 AGM- March 9, 2013

Highlights from 2012 • Initiated A Strategic Planning Process in August 2012: PC’s Float Plan for Success with board and facilitator Tim Fleming from InnovationsWorks.com, which culminated with a meeting in January 2013 in Ottawa. Transport Canada National Recreational Boating Advisory Committee • renewed Paddle Canada’s seat on national committee and continued to attend regular meetings in April and November in Ottawa. Highlights from 2012 Partnerships: • Transport Canada Office of Boating Safety: $50,000 in funding (April 2012 to March 31, 2013) to support events, program expansion and safety awareness media projects • Ontario Tourism – Outdoor Ontario web portal content management, stories, blogs contract management services • Rapid Media – 3 page Kanawa member news with exposure to over 70,000 readers and magazine title choice for PC members. • AdventureSmart : National Search & Rescue Secretariat – initial PaddleSmart program meetings & support Paddle Canada Executive Director's Report for 2012 AGM- March 9, 2013

Highlights from 2012 Partnerships: • Ottawa / Gatineau Sports Ecology Park 2017 with partners Canadian Wildlife Federation, Heritage Ottawa and Heritage Canada • Lendal Paddles – Pro Deal Purchase for Instructor Members • National Paddling Week - producing partners: Canadian Canoe Museum, Rapid Media and Paddle Canada – Event planned for June 15-23, 2013 Paddle Canada Executive Director's Report for 2012 AGM- March 9, 2013
