  1. The Support Structural System for Sicbar and EC Detector of SciBooNE FermiLab/PPD/MD May 08, 2006 Edward Chi

  2. SciBooNE Project (Mechanical) MRD (E. Villegas) VME, HV Gain Monitor & other Accessorial Support Devices Dark house, upper & lower removable floors, railings, A.C. system Scibar & EC Support Struc.System (Main Supt.Frame) Electron Catcher (EC) Support Device See (http://home.fnal.gov/~edchi/Sciboone/ ec_scibar/support-ec-042806.ppt) for details Scibar Support Device See (http://home.fnal.gov/~edchi/ Sciboone/EC_Scibar/structure- Supt-041306.ppt) for details

  3. Iso view of the Scibar & EC detector @ inside of the SciBooNE enclosure floor

  4. Move Scibar & EC main supt. frame (pre-fabricated, ~9,800 lbs) to CDF Assembly hall

  5. Install Hor. and Vert. EC supt. frame to the main frame before EC modules installation

  6. By using the special horizontal EC module lifting fixture to install 32 EC modules horizontally, the mech. design should allow the alignment in x, y & z directions respectively.

  7. Scibar Module layer Mr. H. Tanaka will try his best to reshape all shipped Scibar Module layers if needed (The supt. frame has added the device) Scibar module Lifting fixture

  8. View w/all 64 scibar modules are installed (with x, y & z adjustment capabilities)

  9. View of the 1st EC vertical module Installed to the main support frame with the special vertical lifting fixture EC vertical super module (w/4 modules & plates)

  10. View with all 32 vertical EC modules installed (w/x,y & z alignment ability), the clearance between the downstream surface of the 64th Scibar module to the upstream surface of the EC vertical module is ~10 cm (z dir.), the clearance between the top surface of the floor to the vt. Module connect is ~12”(30.5 cm, y dir.).

  11. Install pre-assembled PMT frames to the top and vertical of frame, also Install the gain monitors. (Will design the safety railings all around the top of the support frame)

  12. WARNING: Please don’t using this service floor as boxing ring to excise you boxing skills!! Install the Movable railings Remove one fl panel for reg. service access Install the removable service fl @ the top service of the dark room (floor rating: 75 lbs/ ft sq.), the rest sides of the dark room still under developing.

  13. CDF loading dock and the 50 tons crane: 18’ clearance for the crane bridge, 19’ for the hook. For moving out from CDF to SciBooNE site: View of the Scibar & EC detector with the special lifting fixture (total weight: ~36.5 tons) for lifting from CDF assembly hall to the low boy trailer on the CDF loading dock. (All railings must be removed)

  14. View of the CDF west sd. Door: 16’ height with 3 degree ramp The layout of the truck w/low boy trailer(25” height) loading with the Scibar & EC detector passing through the CDF west side door (limited to 158.50” overall height). Remove the lifting fixture before moving out the CDF door.

  15. Install Scibar & EC detector to the SciBooNE Enclosure with A.C. system (see on the next slide), HV & VME outside of the dark room. VME rack & supt. brackets HV

  16. AC System for the Scibar & EC Detector R. Schmitt Chiller (Neslab HX200) re-use 4 GPM water Inside dark room of the Scibar & EC Detector (2C temp. diff. between Inlet and outlet, heat load for PMT is ~ 2 KW) Heat Exchanger (TBD) FAN (Grainger 7C409) 2000 CFM air 18 C

  17. Removable Platform and the Detectors (assuming the MRD is under the platform) Scibar & EC Detector Top view of the Scibar & EC detector @ the SciBooNE enclosure
