  2. Dr. Ross Porter is an author, teacher, consultant, public speaker, spiritual director and the Executive Director of Stillpoint Family Resources. He is also the Director of Faith Formation and Evangelization at St. Mel Parish in Woodland Hills, California.

  3. “I knew in graduate school that I wanted to establish an organization that served the underserved through counseling,” wrote Dr. Ross Porter, “but the inspiration for [Stillpoint Family Resources] was the life of our first child John Michael. He was born with Down syndrome, and two major heart malformations.

  4. My wife and I were surrounded by loving support, and grew profoundly in gratitude [we] committed ourselves to doing whatever we could to help other individuals and families survive and grow through crises.”Dr. Porter has devoted his life to spreading Stillpoint’s mission of changing lives, strengthening families and shaping culture.

  5. A couple of Stillpoint’s projects are Virtue You and Villa Providencia. VirtueYOU is an educational program for couples, families, communities and individuals. It teaches how to practice habits (virtues) that lead to true happiness. Villa Providencia, a home and community for special needs adults, is the final piece to Stillpoint’s mission.

  6. Though Dr. Ross Porter is, with Villa Providencia, nearing the completion of the Stillpoint Family Resources vision, he is not stopping. Instead, Stillpoint will continue to grow, offering hope and change to people from around the world.
