WHAT ARE OUR KIDS SAYING? • Iowa Youth Survey is conducted every two years in grades 6, 8, and 10. • Most recently given in 2012-13. • Data Gathered on Seven Constructs: • Secure and Supportive Family • School Expectations and Boundaries • Safe and Supportive Community • Healthy Youth • Socially Competent Youth • Youth Successful in School • Bullying

Questions • How much do you agree or disagree that each of the following statements is true? • In my school there are clear rules about what students can and cannot do • In my school the school principal and teachers consistently enforce school rules • In my school if I skipped school at least one of my parents/guardians would be notified • In my school students caught drinking, smoking, or using an illegal drug are not allowed to participate in any extracurricular activity for some time period • My school lets a parent/guardian  know  if  I’ve   done something wrong.
