  2. Record bases (denture base) Uses: 1. Support of the occlusal rims. 2. Recording maxillomandibular relation. 3. Carry of artificial teeth to perform try in procedure. 4. Gives an idea about the contour and aesthetics of the denture.

  3. Requirement of record bases: 1. The borders should be resemble a finished denture without reduction. 2. All surfaces that contact lips, cheek and tongue should besmooth and rounded. 3.The crest and labial and/or buccal slopes should be thin (1.5mm)to provide space for teeth arrangement.

  4. Uses of bite rims: 1.Determination of of maxillomandibular relation, including: 2. Setting up or arrangement of teeth. 3. Orientation of occlusal plane. 4. Determination the shape of the arch. 5. Support of the facial muscles 6. Selection of teeth, includes determining of: *midline position: *canine lines position: *width of 6 anterior teeth: *width of posterior teeth: * high lip line: *low lip line:

  5. Occlusal rims (bite rims or wax rims):wax form constructed on record bases used for recording jaw relation and teeth arrangement. Maxillary occlusion rim features: 4mm 6-8mm 18mm 22mm 7mm Mandibular occlusion rim features: 18mm
