  6. Биотопическая приуроченность: • Все виды родаPycnoglypta– мезофилы или гигромезофилы, заселяющие влажные мхи, сырую лесную подстилку. Часто встречаются в хвойных и смешанных лесах на заболоченных участках или в мохово-лишайниковых тундрах. Некоторые виды отмечены в гниющих водорослях на побережье океана, в норах мелких грызунов.

  7. Группа видов lurida • Виды этой группы характеризуются более широким телом, более выпуклой и поперечной переднеспинкой, более высоким взъемом между глаз, наличием медиальных зубчиков на краях VI-VIII стернитов у самцов, наличием вдавления или слабого киля в медиальной части VIII тергита самки, короткой (не разделенной) срединной лопастью эдеагуса, сравнительно короткими и широкими парамерами, широкой листовидной формой акцессорного склерита самки. • Виды группы: P. lurida, P. baicalica, P. campbelli, P. maritima, P. cornuta.

Группа видов heydeni Виды этой группы характеризуются более узким телом, более маленькой, менее выпуклой и менее поперечной переднеспинкой, меньшим взъемом между глаз, отсутствием медиальных зубчиков на VI-VIII стернитах самца, наличием продольного киля на VIII тергите самок, разделенной надвое срединнй лопстью эдеагуса, длинными узкими парамерами. • Виды группы: P. heydeni, P. aptera.
