  5. 2006-2010 State Service Plan State Measurable Goals Strategic Goal 1: Meeting Critical Needs in Local Communities through Service • Focus Area 1.1 - Ensuring a Brighter Future for all of America’s Youth. • Tennessee targets for 2006-2010: 75,000 at-risk youth receive mentoring or other support services, or they are engaged in service through national service programs. • Focus Area 1.2 - Frail Seniors • Tennessee targets for 2006-2010: 1,800 frail seniors receive services that assist them to maintain quality of life through national service programs.

  6. 2006-2010 State Service Plan State Measurable Goals Strategic Goal 2: Strengthening Communities to Engage Citizens • Focus Area 2.1 - Engaging Students in their Communities • Tennessee targets for 2006-2010: At least 50% of Tennessee K-12schools incorporate service-learning into their curricula by 2010 in at least one subject in at least one grade (avg 7% per year increase). At least five Lions-Quest service-learning teacher trainings provided annually. • Focus Area 2.2 - Provide training to volunteer leaders to maximize service • Tennessee targets for 2006-2010: Volunteer training provided for at least 1,000 leaders annually. • Focus Area 2.3 - Encourage Volunteer Centers and Higher Education Service • Tennessee targets for 2006-2010: To the extent resources are available, the Volunteer Tennessee hopes to support Volunteer Centers and formation of Tennessee Campus Compact.

  7. 2006-2010 State Service Plan State Measurable Goals Strategic Goal 3: Engaging Americans in a Lifetime of Volunteering and Service • Focus Area 3.1 - Volunteer Recruitment • Tennessee targets for 2006-2010: By 2010, 3 million hours of volunteer service annually generated through national service programs. • Focus Area 3.2 - Volunteer recognition program • Tennessee targets for 2006-2010: Tennessee aims to develop a statewide volunteer recognition program to encourage more volunteers and develop additional partners for service.

  8. 2010-2012 Tennessee State Plan • Must ensure outreach to diverse, broad-based community organizations that serve underrepresented populations by creating State networks and registries or by utilizing existing ones. • Must set forth the State’s goals, priorities, and strategies for promoting national and community service and strengthening its service infrastructure, including how Corporation-funded programs fit into the plan.
