  1. CarbonTiny black spots caused by undigested carbon inclusions (natts). Black material found within internal fracture planes can also be crystallographic inclusions of graphite, ferropericlase, pyrrhotite and pentlandite.

  2. Clouds (Cld)A dense grouping of tiny pinpoints that create a cloudy zone which may not resolve as individual pinpoints at 10X Magnification.

  3. Cloud (ต่อ)

  4. Cloud ภายใต้ UV light

  5. Cloud ภายใต้ Long Wave Light

  6. Cloud ภายใต้ Fluorescence light

  7. Feathers (Ftr)caused by cleavage planes or internal stress fractures that have the appearance of wispy feathers. Feather inclusions are common around included crystals such as garnet, which cause internal stress fractures during crystal growth. Feather inclusions can be accompanied by internal graining and/or twinning wisp inclusions.

  8. Feather (ต่อ)

  9. Feather ที่เกิดจากความเครียดรอบๆผลึกการ์เนต

  10. Pronounced stress fractures and feather inclusions can potentially weaken the stone, making it susceptible to fracturing when exposed to thermal or physical shock. This is especially true if the fracture breeches the stone's surface, and the stress inclusion occurs along the gem's natural cleavage plane. As a result, diamonds with significant stress fractures and feather should not be cleaned in an ultrasonic cleaner as this could cause the diamond to shatter.

  11. Grain Center (GrCnt)A concentrated area of crystal growth that can appear light or dark.

  12. Internal Trigons Grain Center Inclusions

  13. Growth TubesImperfection formed during crystal growth, when a tube is generated by a formerly liquid filled cavity.

  14. Growth tube (ต่อ)

  15. Included Crystals (Xtl)Included Crystal inclusions are whole crystals or tiny included gem fragments of undigested crystals such as garnet, diopside, olivine, spinel, calcite, iron oxides, silica or other gem stone inclusions. Chrome diopside

  16. Garnet

  17. Garnet on diamond girdle

  18. Grossularite garnet

  19. Internal Graining (IntGr)Irregular crystal growth causing internal distortions, waviness, and/or haze. Can be accompanied by internal strain.

  20. Internal Laser Drilling (LDH)Internal pathway caused by laser-drilling to remove large inclusions, and where pathway does not breach the cut diamond's surface.

  21. Needles (Ndl)Rutile-like needle-shaped inclusions.

  22. Pinpoints (Pp)Minute crystals within the diamond that appear white. Large groupings of small pinpoints can create a cloud effect.
