4. Graduation Requirements • 40 or 47 credits, depending on diploma • Passing Score on the ECA (graduation qualifying exam) or waiver. • ECA waiver is determined according to state guidelines. • Core 40 Diploma • Core 40 with Academic Honors Diploma

5. English 8 credits Math 6 credits: Algebra I, Geometry and Algebra II or a third year if student received Algebra I credit in 8th grade. ACADEMIC HONORS DIPLOMA • Core 40 requirements PLUS • 2 additional math credits • 6 credits of World Language in one language OR 2 years each in 2 different languages • 2 credits in Fine Arts such as music or art • And one of the following: • 2 Advanced Placement courses and exams • 6 dual enrollment college credits • 1 Advanced Placement course and 3 dual enrollment college credits. • No grade lower than a C- in required areas • 3.00 GPA by the end of the senior year. • Total of 47 credits required.

7. MID YEAR GRADUATION AND REDUCED TIME SCHEDULES • Mid-year graduates: Students who complete 7 full semesters and all requirements may graduate in Dec. No diploma or ceremony at that time. • Reduced Second Semester Schedules: Seniors may have a partial schedule second semester. Not for athletes. • Both options require parent permission form and must be submitted when scheduling.

SAT and ACT TESTS • Both are used for college admissions and for scholarships • Registration required, preferred on line • Fee required • Free lunch students may obtain a fee waiver from counselor • Test dates for FCHS: SAT is June 4 ACT is June 11 • We recommend taking both tests at least once, in the spring, then repeat the best test if necessary in the fall.

34. SAT SUBJECT TESTS & AP TESTS • Some colleges (usually the most selective) also require SAT subject tests. Always check the admissions criteria. • Advanced Placement Courses; The tests at the end of the courses, depending on your score, can give you college credit and/or determine course placement. Check with your chosen colleges.
