The S&I Framework esMD eDoC Standards Evaluation Process Goal of the S&I Framework Standards Evaluation Process: To achieve consensus on an applicable and relevant standard to be modified or further developed as a resolution to the health information exchange challenge addressed by the esMD eDoC Initiative Each phase of the process narrows the initial Candidate Standards List toward a Selected Standard to be developed into the eDoC Implementation Guide

  7. esMD eDoC Harmonization Challenges • Two Implementation Guides to be developed – Administrative Companion to C-CDA and Standard Guide for S&I specifying metadata and transport options • Assessment of transport requirements and transport constraints • Relation to prior use cases and implementation guides • Use Case 1 – Message to send a registration request and response • Use Case 2 – Message to send Structured Content • Structured Content – Document • The eMDR Object was envisioned as a persistent document, distinct from the message it is sent in • Author of Record
