THE TRUST & KAMSHET CAMPUS • SumanRameshTulsiani Charitable Trust (SRTCT) was set up on 6th February 1989 in Mumbai. • Dignified academicians Suman and Ramesh intend to promote the academic interest of students with economic problems. • SRTCT also supports the cause of public health and social work. • The SumanRameshTulsiani Technical Campus is managed by VIT, Pune under the SRTCT as SumanRameshTulsiani Technical Campus (SRTTC)- Faculty of Engineering, Kamshet. • An extended objective of trust is to inculcate a research culture in the institute with potential for far reaching social and industrial impact.

SUMANMANJIRI • On the occasion of her 75th birthday, we felicitate SumanRameshTulsiani of SRCTC who has been a driving force behind every achievement of the Trust. • SumanTulsiani in a nutshell • Born on October 9, 1937 in Goa • Primary education from New English School in Murgaon, Goa, • Shifted to Mumbai for further studies • Holds a B.A degree in Psychology and French and secured a first place in French. • Founded the SumanRameshTulsiani Charitable Trust (SRTCT) in 1989to realize the philanthropic ideals after her marriage to RameshTulsiani. • SRTCT has accomplished a great deal in its objective of helping the needy and underprivileged in the fields of education and public health.

Some examples of the invaluable contributions of SRTCT to the cause of public health and support for the weak and needy. • Construction of a building for MotibenDalvi Hospital on Hughes Road, Mumbai. • Establishment of a dialysis centre at Dr. BabasahebAmbedkarVaidyakiyaPratishthan's • Dr. Hedgewar Hospital at Aurangabad. • Arrangement for the provision of meals for the relatives of patients in the pediatric ward at J. J. Hospital, Mumbai.

Construction of a home for the aged and a Geriatric Centre called SumanRameshTulsiani Centre of Love and Care at SnehaMandir in Goa. • Another old age home was set up by the Trust under the name Snehabandhan at Kansal in Rajgad district. • To ease tremendous emotional as well as physical plight, SRTCT provides facilities for terminally ill cancer patients at ShantiAvedna, Mount Mary Road, Bandra, Mumbai. • The Trust made contributions for restoration and medical aid in tsunami affected areas in South India.

GREAT PERSONS ARE ABLE TO DO GREAT KINDNESS • Noble initiatives of SRTCT to the cause of education and learning • Awards scholarship to poor and needy students at Sophia College, Mumbai. • Set up a facility for Advanced and Innovative Research and Education in Science at Sophia College. • Scholarship and loans to needy and deserving students in the field of Information and Technology. • Set up hostel buildings at Ram RatnaVidyaMandir at KeshavShristi in Bhayander, Mumbai. • Set up an MCA department for Vivekananda Education Society in Chembur, Mumbai.

SRTTC, KAMSHET • The SRTTC Kamshet is managed by VIT, Pune under the SumanRameshTulsiani Charitable Trust. • It is located at Kamshet on the Mumbai-Pune highway (NH4 • Well connected to Pune (about 45 Km) and Lonavala (about 15 Km). • The Kamshet Railway Station on the Mumbai-Pune rail road, is about 2 Km from the institute.

SUMAN RAMESH TULSIANI TECHNICAL CAMPUS • The engineering college is AICTE approved • Affiliated to Pune University. • The campus comprises of administrative, residential and academic buildings spread over an area of 23 acres • Equipped with all the modern facilities, the focus of SRTTC is to groom students into dynamic and result-oriented technocrats for embracing opportunities globally. • Intake for academic year 2012 - 300 students • Duration of the course - Four years engineering course • Streams - Computer, Electronics & Telecommunication, Mechanical and Civil streams.

INFRASTRUCTURE OF SRTTC • Two new hostels are coming up with accommodation facility for 500 boys and 250 girls. • Plan to construct separate stadiums for indoor and outdoor sports. • Fully AC auditorium will also be constructed along with a separate building for seminars and cultural programmes. • An OPD and an eye care department will also be started in the campus. Covered by foliage of approximately ten thousand trees in the lap of the mountains. The pleasant and healthy environment creates a truly enriching atmosphere of study and research.

VISION OF THE PROMOTING BODY • The vision of the Promoting Body of SRTTC is ‘TO MAKE INDIA A PREFERRED DESTINATION OF KNOWLEDGE PROCESS OUTSOURCE [KPOs]IN THE WORLD’. • To develop the institution for global needs of the society. • To develop technocrats in the Mechanical, Electrical, Civil & IT sector who will go on to meet National and International challenges. • To develop the skills of rural students in and around Kamshet in particular and the state in general. • To develop competitive skills among the students in meeting present requirements of the fast developing society. • To develop spoken and communication skills in the English language by establishing anEnglish laboratory. • To develop the organization as a mega institution by establishing different job – oriented courses like MBA, B.Pharmacy, Marine engineering, MBBS and so on. • To develop business executives in the marketing sector to meet the national andinternational challenges.

  16. FUTURE OF SRTTC With a variety of new courses being scheduled to start in the upcoming academic year, SRTTC, is hopeful that the strength will rise further. The number of seats for engineering students will be increased. Plans for starting a Polytechnic as well as MBA and MCA courses are on the cards. With the help of SRTCT and under the administration of Vishwakarma Institutes, a name that spells the highest standards in the field of education, SRTTC at Kamshet is sure to emerge as one of the leading institutions for technical studies in near future.
