Progress • Study Tour in Oz and Singapore The National Port Master Plan team has: • Developed an effective work process • Identified policy areas for detailed study Is finalizing deliverables: • A Strategic Port Traffic Forecast • A vision of the National Port System in 2030 Is looking forward to: • Presenting the vision to Steering Group • Running a Stakeholders Seminar

The Vision • In 2030 the National Port System of Indonesia will contribute to consistently reducing international and domestic transport costs by: • Accommodating ships that will provide the lowest sea-freight costs • Serving ships promptly and effectively without causing undue delay • Deliver high levels of cargo handling productivity • Optimise the cost of port service delivery • The Directorate General of Sea Transportation will encourage the port sector to do this by implementing and regulating policies that • Identify and stimulate port development opportunities that meet market demand • Mobilize private investment to create and operate appropriate cargo handling capacity • Manage competition between terminals to improve the quality of port service delivery • The policies will be implemented to ensure social stability is maintained as effectively as practical in a rapidly changing world

Key Vision Elements Jakarta/West Java • Tanjung Priok not to be primary focus • Major terminals East and West of Jakarta • Bojonegara to focus on commodities but to have container operations South Sumatra • Major Coal & CPO terminal development • Most to Jakarta by road and roro/bridge Bali+++ • Homeport for Cruise Ships • Containers to Java by road
