  1. Prayers for Peace; for Paris and for the world

  2. "If we have no peace it is because we have forgotten we belong to each other." Mother Theresa

  3. Reflection

  4. Prayers in times of violent crisis • How should we pray in times like this? How should we pray for Parisians; for the families of those grieving; for our governments; even for ISIS? • Pray for the Comfort and Peace of the Lord:  The Lord is near to the broken hearted and saves the crushed in spirit. (Psalms 34:18)

  5. A Prayer for Peace

  6. Holy and merciful God, We pray for those who have died in the violent attacks in Paris; Eternal rest grant unto them. We pray for the people of Paris today. For those who mourn and those lost in the bewilderment and fear of facing violence.Lord, bring comfort, consolation and peace we pray.Dry the tears of the broken-hearted and still the hearts of the frightened. We pray for all who are victims of acts of hatred and violence across our world.Lord have mercyIn Jesus’ name. Amen.

  7. God of the dispossessed, defender of the helpless, you grieve with all parents who weep, because their children are no more;may we also refuse to be comforted until the violence of the strong has been confounded, and the broken victims have been set freein the name of Jesus Christ. Amen. (Janet Morley)

  8. Litany for Peace One: From words and deeds that provoke discord, prejudice and hatred,All: O God, deliver us.One: From suspicions and fears that stand in the way of reconciliation, All: O God, deliver us.One: From believing and speaking lies about other peoples or nations,All: O God, deliver us. One: From cruel indifference to the cries of the hungry and homeless, All: O God, deliver us.One: From all that prevents us from fulfilling your promise of peace, All: O God, deliver us.One: Deliver us from our brokenness, we pray, O God, All: and by your grace and healing presence deliver us to You

  9. O Lord Jesus Christ, whose perfect life met death by violence and was not extinguished; so enter the hearts and minds of those affected by violence, that frailty may give way to your strength, loss to your pain, bitterness to your total and victorious love; for your name's sake. Amen.
