  3. Treatment Goals • Reduce substance use and increase sobriety. • Improvements in health, social, and personal functioning. • Prevention or reduction of the frequency and severity of relapses.

  6. Treatment: Bottom Line The best treatments involve a combination of treatment medications and behavioral therapies. Treatments match parent’s needs – culture, gender, co-occurring illnesses, parenting, housing, physical/sexual abuse history, etc.
