  3. What is a Keenshond? How To Groom A Keeshond… • Brush the coat thoroughly several times per week. They need a general brushing at least twice a week. Make sure to give them a deep brushing; don't just smooth down the topcoat. Keeshonds have a very dense undercoat, and the topcoat can often mask its condition. Neglect can lead to excessive knotting and/or matting of the coat. These knots can be very painful to remove. • Use a #10 blade to trim hairs around the anus which may collect fecal matter and dirt. • Bathe or dry shampoo the dog when necessary. Don't bathe them too often or you can dry out the coat. Prior to the bath, apply protein coat conditioner and detangling spray to the dog's coat. Apply a second time after bathing and drying the dog • Comb out your Keeshond's coat starting with a slicker brush, then moving to a coarse or medium comb. • Trim stray hairs around the feet and between the pads with scissors. Source:http://www.ehow.com/how_2103752_groom-keeshond.html A medium-sized, sturdy dog, the Keeshond possesses the characteristics of other Northern breeds – a fox-like expression, stand-off coat and richly plumed tail carried over the back. His coloring is a mixture of gray, black and cream, with variations from light to dark and distinctive "spectacles" – markings and shadings in the eye area, including a delicate, dark line slanting from eye to ear and expressive eyebrows.

  6. Someone Like Summer Annabel first sees him playing soccer near her house. His name is Esteban—she sees it on the back of his team shirt. He notices her, smiles, then looks back over his shoulder at her again. It is the beginning of summer in the resort town of Seaview. It is also the start of a romance between a young Colombian who came to town to work and the daughter of local contractor whose crews are entirely Latino—new immigrants who are changing the face of Seaview. This is the summer of war in Iraq, and of Hurricane Katrina. But in Seaview there are other concerns. In Annabel's house her new boyfriend is at the top of the list. And Esteban's sister has harsh words for his choice of a girlfriend. M. E. Kerr weaves a compelling story of star crossed love and a small-town problem of nationwide significance. 7. The Opera Tosca… "Tosca," first performed in 1900, takes place a century before that in Rome during the Napoleonic Wars. In three short acts set in a church, a palace and a prison, it tells the tale of singer Floria Tosca, her lover, painter Mario Cavaradossi, and Baron Scarpia, chief of the secret police – none of whom survives to the final curtain. The sadistic Scarpia seizes Cavaradossi as a political prisoner, then tells Tosca the price for her lover's life is to have sex with him. Tosca agrees but murders Scarpia instead, thinking Cavaradossi will be set free after a mock execution. Too late, she discovers Scarpia has tricked her and the execution is real. As the police close in, she throws herself off the ramparts of the prison.

  8. Sandro Botticelli Botticelli’s style evolved into one that was very distinct. His portraits seemed to have a melancholy or sad characteristic to them. Sandro stressed line and detail using them to bring his characters alive – as if acting out a scene. He included in his style a flowing characteristic that would clearly identify work as his. Botticelli also included Neo-Platonism in his work. This meant that he would bring together in one painting ideas that belong to both Christianity and pagan ideas which may have included mythology. One theme that Botticelli used over and over again was the idea of a very sad young girl that was detached from what was going on around her. This theme appeared in many of his portraits throughout his career. Another theme Botticelli liked tackling were the roles male and females played in society. Sometimes Sandro would show traditional roles, but other times, he showed females as the dominant, most important figure.
